Home / Ghats / Badri Narayana Ghat
One of Kashi's 84 ghatsBadri Narayana Ghat is a smaller ghat on the north stretch of the riverfront, between Gai Ghat and Trilochan Ghat — named for Badri Narayan, the form of Vishnu enshrined at Badrinath in the Himalayas — another case of a distant pilgrimage site being symbolically represented on the Kashi riverfront.
Like most of Varanasi's 84 ghats, Badri Narayana Ghat is used day to day mostly by residents of the surrounding lanes for bathing, laundry and the ordinary rhythm of riverside life, rather than drawing the crowds that gather at the handful of landmark ghats nearby.
It sits within easy walking distance of both Gai Ghat and Trilochan Ghat, and is best taken in as part of a longer walk or boat ride along this stretch rather than visited on its own.
