One of Kashi's 84 ghats

Durga Ghat

Durga Ghat is a smaller ghat on the north stretch of the riverfront, between Panchganga Ghat and Brahma Ghat — named for a Durga shrine on the ghat, distinct from the larger Durga Kund Temple (the 'Monkey Temple') elsewhere in the city.

Like most of Varanasi's 84 ghats, Durga Ghat is used day to day mostly by residents of the surrounding lanes for bathing, laundry and the ordinary rhythm of riverside life, rather than drawing the crowds that gather at the handful of landmark ghats nearby.

It sits within easy walking distance of both Panchganga Ghat and Brahma Ghat, and is best taken in as part of a longer walk or boat ride along this stretch rather than visited on its own.
