Home / Ghats / Mahanirvani Ghat
One of Kashi's 84 ghatsMahanirvani Ghat is a smaller ghat on the south stretch of the riverfront, between Niranjani Ghat and Gularia Ghat — associated with the Mahanirvani Akhara, another of the principal ascetic orders with a long-standing presence on this stretch.
Like most of Varanasi's 84 ghats, Mahanirvani Ghat is used day to day mostly by residents of the surrounding lanes for bathing, laundry and the ordinary rhythm of riverside life, rather than drawing the crowds that gather at the handful of landmark ghats nearby.
It sits within easy walking distance of both Niranjani Ghat and Gularia Ghat, and is best taken in as part of a longer walk or boat ride along this stretch rather than visited on its own.
