Nishad Ghat is a smaller ghat on the north stretch of the riverfront, between Prahalada Ghat and Rani Ghat — divided off from the neighbouring Prahalada Ghat, and — like Nishadaraja Ghat further south — its name recalls the Nishad boatman community central to the Ramayana's Varanasi-adjacent episodes.
Like most of Varanasi's 84 ghats, Nishad Ghat is used day to day mostly by residents of the surrounding lanes for bathing, laundry and the ordinary rhythm of riverside life, rather than drawing the crowds that gather at the handful of landmark ghats nearby.
It sits within easy walking distance of both Prahalada Ghat and Rani Ghat, and is best taken in as part of a longer walk or boat ride along this stretch rather than visited on its own.
