Prahalada Ghat is a smaller ghat on the north stretch of the riverfront, between Phuta Ghat and Nishad Ghat — named for Prahlad, the devotee of Vishnu from the Narasimha legend, celebrated for his unwavering faith in the face of his father's persecution.
Like most of Varanasi's 84 ghats, Prahalada Ghat is used day to day mostly by residents of the surrounding lanes for bathing, laundry and the ordinary rhythm of riverside life, rather than drawing the crowds that gather at the handful of landmark ghats nearby.
It sits within easy walking distance of both Phuta Ghat and Nishad Ghat, and is best taken in as part of a longer walk or boat ride along this stretch rather than visited on its own.
