One of Kashi's 84 ghats

Rama Ghat

Rama Ghat is a smaller ghat on the north stretch of the riverfront, between Agnishvara Ghat and Jatara Ghat — a shrine to Rama on the ghat gives it its name, one of several riverfront stops associated with figures from the Ramayana.

Like most of Varanasi's 84 ghats, Rama Ghat is used day to day mostly by residents of the surrounding lanes for bathing, laundry and the ordinary rhythm of riverside life, rather than drawing the crowds that gather at the handful of landmark ghats nearby.

It sits within easy walking distance of both Agnishvara Ghat and Jatara Ghat, and is best taken in as part of a longer walk or boat ride along this stretch rather than visited on its own.
