Someshwar Ghat is a smaller ghat on the south central stretch of the riverfront, between Chauki Ghat and Mansarovar Ghat — home to a Someshwar linga, a form of Shiva that shares its name with the one enshrined within the carved balcony of Man Mandir Ghat further north.
Like most of Varanasi's 84 ghats, Someshwar Ghat is used day to day mostly by residents of the surrounding lanes for bathing, laundry and the ordinary rhythm of riverside life, rather than drawing the crowds that gather at the handful of landmark ghats nearby.
It sits within easy walking distance of both Chauki Ghat and Mansarovar Ghat, and is best taken in as part of a longer walk or boat ride along this stretch rather than visited on its own.
