Shiva TempleNamed after one of Shiva's forms associated with overcoming death and illness, this temple draws people specifically looking for relief during sickness — it's less a sightseeing stop than a place locals turn to in difficult moments.
The temple sits on the walking route between Daranagar and Kaal Bhairav, so it's easy to combine the two without planning a separate trip. A well on the temple premises is considered by devotees to have healing properties, and some visitors specifically collect water from it for someone who's unwell.
Like several of Varanasi's neighbourhood Shiva temples, it doesn't have the scale or crowds of Kashi Vishwanath, which actually makes it a good stop if you want a quieter, slower darshan experience in between the city's busier landmarks.
The Mahamrityunjaya mantra, chanted for health and protection across Hindu tradition, is closely associated with this form of Shiva, and some pilgrims choose to recite it specifically at this temple.
