Like the other Aditya shrines scattered across the city, this is a modest neighbourhood temple rather than a grand structure, visited mainly by pilgrims specifically working through the full twelve-shrine sun circuit described in the old texts.
Its position in the northern part of the old city places it naturally alongside a visit to Adi Keshava and Omkareshwar Mahadev, both of which sit in the same general area away from the central ghats.
Sun worship is one of the older, less publicised threads of devotion in Kashi, and this circuit is a good one to explore if the city's major Shiva and Devi temples already feel familiar.

The Kashi Khand names twelve forms of the sun god said to have appeared across the city; Uttararka, Lolark and Keshava Aditya are among the better-known of this set.
